I saw lots of articles describe that the affiliate marketing can earn hundred thousand dollars per monthly. I can tell you that only 1% of marketers can do this. When you really give up your job and start affiliate marketing, you will feel that it is not a easy thing. The following is my friend (Alex)’s experience about entering affiliate marketing industry:
After my terrible 1st attempt with affiliate marketing, I went back to normal office job and now back to affiliate marketing again, I saw very common aspect that hinder many people to achieving what the they want. To be frank, I was a victim of this aspect and it is probably shadowing you now as well.
Hey, I am a human being after all…
So, what is the big shadow that is stopping you to build your online welfare?
We always have this “what if…?” when we started something new. Even we are on the journey to making it, the same question will always linger in our mind. Base on my experience, the underlying answer to “what if I fail” is usually more than just losing money.
Money on itself is just a currency which people deem important because of the value being added to it.
To me personally, the real answer is to deal with my injured ego.
How am I to face the people I have so proudly announced that I am making money with affiliate marketing? I told them that how much money I was going to earn and how I was going to change my life just within months.
Well, I guess I found out the hard way…
Yes, there are those who laughed at me and said the most hurting line “There. I told you so.” But in actual fact, there are more who stood by me when I came back hurt. Some of them even loan me some money to deal with the debt that I accumulated to build the online business.
To deal with your fear, you have to first find out what is your real fear.
Once you have found out your real fear, you will see that really pulling you down is not as what you saw on the surface.
Sometime, it is just a personal perception.
If you refer to previous post about making your affiliate marketing dream come true, you will know how I developed my personal fear. So in my case, I just have to deal with the fact that not many people are really out there to condemn me and are happy to see me come back with injuries.
When I recall of the people who said “I told you so…” I don’t really go out often with these people (whom I now don’t call as friends). Besides, everyone can have their own understanding and view on something. They don’t necessary eye to eye with me and when that happens, I just need to focus on my own matter at hand.
… I would rather surround myself with friends and family who caught me when I fell.
By the way, there are many saying that fear is just an acronym for:
If that is the case, you might want to consider taking small progression for your affiliate marketing business.
If spending $500 for a SEO project seems too risky for you, you can start with $5 (Fiverr) to get things rolling. You can get the freelancer to submit your site for social bookmarking or create quality backlinks to your site.
If a blogging daily sounds too daunting for you, you can blog 3 times a week. You just need to get your muscles to be familiar with this new task of making money with affiliate marketing.
If reading a 900 pages dummy book for affiliate marketing is too much to chew, spend an hour a day reading tips from successful affiliate marketers for a particular topic will get you familiar with the basic of the business.
I know how horrible dealing with Fear can be.
To overcome it, you need just to take gradual steps and get yourself familiar with this new experience.
I can guarantee you once you get the hang of it, you will never want to give it up.
