So, yesterday I was mad at myself for not having anything to write about. I will never post anything here that will not benefit my readers and subscribers. Just not my style. I want everything posted here to be worth your time when you read it. I need to offer value each and every single day. Just the way I roll and if you don’t like it then there are 50 million other blogs you can follow…
So today I have a post because yesterday’s creativity juice was not flowing for me at all. I think it may be because I had lots of other things on my mind…who knows what it was. I don’t but the good thing is I have something to write about today for you all. We will be talking about creativity and how you can get inspiration and where to look for it.
One thing I love doing for my own landing pages is looking through Quora.com and Google Trends to find the hottest topics. These headlines in a particular niche are what I am looking for. If the headline was good enough to make it to the top of Quora and Google Trends then chances are it will convert well for my traffic…but you only find out if you try it. I have had much luck with this since I have started using this little method for headlines and so far my headlines convert really well. Now, I do have to change them a bit to fit what I am offering sometimes but for the most part the headline will stay the same.
Another way to get creative is by looking around the net. I know this is what we do all the time but do you actually have a swipe file that you use to collect cool paragraphs or headlines? You probably should. I actually have a whole folder dedicated to this part of my business. I take snap shots of certain optin forms, graphics etc so that I can remember them and use them for my own projects. No I don’t copy other people’s work I just get inspiration from it for my own benefit.
I love reading blogs on the subject of headlines and copy. This helps me keep up to date on what is working and not. I subscribe to several blogs which talk about writing and converting. Some good one is problogger.net. They are my two favorite blogs to read and I read them daily. Maybe 10 minutes of my time which is not missed at all as this really helps me and my business.
One way I get inspiration for a blog post is by reading other blogs. I haven’t had to do that yet for this blog but I am sure I will at some point.
So one other way to get a little creativity boost is by actually stepping away to do something enjoyable. I know this may sound a bit odd but it helps me so chances are it may help you. My wife hates it when I am laying on the couch and I say out loud something I heard someone on the TV say. If I like it then I will use it for myself. I am one of the guys you know who actually likes watching commercials. I am in the business of attraction and conversions so why not pay attention to what the national companies are doing to target customers and get traffic to their own product. This can really help you to be creative and be different.
I enjoy writing and reading. I have always enjoyed it. If I am not being so creative I just go read more online blogs and then come back to my work. I may visit my swipe folder and review some other articles which I swiped for later use. Note* I do not use the articles I get inspiration from them and I swipe them because I may not be able to find them again later.
Anyway, I hope this short article will help you to find creative ways to be creative. What do you do to get creative? Care to share?
