My favorite thing about being an internet marketer and running online businesses is that I can escape from my home office at any given time, for as long as I want to, while traveling anywhere I want to go, to do whatever I want to do.
Before I discovered eCommerce and Internet Marketing I was planning on opening a business with a retail location to generate wealth. I always thought I would work my ass off for 80 hours or more each week and commit my life 100% to making sure that my business thrived. My goal would be to ensure my business would provided me with an early retirement so that I could really start enjoying my life. I would go on long vacations, see the world, take up new hobbies, learn new skills and eventually be able to focus on what makes me happy rather then what makes me money.
Then I discovered how to make money online. I educated myself on how to start an eCommerce website that only take a few hour each day to run. I learned about outsourcing and how to build a business that can run on autopilot. I learned I can use the internet as a tool to generate the more of income then I would receive by owning a retail store. I learned that there are tens of thousands of people who already are doing this online and that I already had the necessary skills to be one of them. I learned that I could enjoy all life has to offer while also generating a huge income. I did not have to put off my ideal life while I created wealth for myself.
I learned that I could build a business that can make me a full time income while I only check my e-mail once/week.
I learned that I can repeat this process over and over until I reach my target income.
I learned that I can do everything that I thought I would have to put off until retirement right then and there, while making the income I thought I would have to work 80+hours for.
I took all of information that I learned and I made a plan for myself. I did not want to build online businesses and “disappear” forever hoping to generate the same income. I understand that the internet is constantly changing and that you do need to stay on top of things in the long run to remain successful. I also personally enjoy creating new websites and businesses so I did not want to cut that part of my life out completely either. What I did want to take is take at least 1 month off from work every six months.. I recommend every does the same. I call this time “mini retirements”. During this time I check my e-mails once per week to make sure everything is running smoothly but do not focus on building my businesses or expanding them.
So, what can you do on your “mini retirements”? Anything you want! By the time you are ready to take one you will be financially independent and your business will be on autopilot. You will be able to release all day to day activities from your schedule and spend your time doing whatever you want.
On your Mini Retirement you can:
- Travel Southeast Asia and stay in a bungalow on a beach for $13/night
- Backpack through Europe and actually time the time to get to know all of the historic cities
- Live in Thailand and take MMA classes
- Spend a month trophy fishing in Panama
- Live slope side on a international Ski Resort
You can do ANYTHING that you want while you are still making money!
